Escape

“Escape games” like this one first appeared online around the early to mid 2000’s. They looked crude and simple but the idea was to be like a super scaled-down version of a point n click adventure game, usually without a protagonist. Rather than sprawling locations and an over-arching storyline, these games have you in one room, or a house. You have to search everything to find clues, objects, move things over, etc and eventually find a key or other way out of the room you’re confined to.

Escape room games challenge players to solve puzzles and find clues to break out of locked rooms or dangerous situations. They feature hidden objects, cryptic messages, and logical deduction, often in mysterious or horror-themed settings. Escape Room web games sometimes have a narrative but they are usually smaller in size or story length than a proper Adventure game.
