New York Defender is a target shooting skill game about defending the former “twin towers” in New York City.
This game is a result of the anxiety felt by North Americans and others in response to the September 11, 2001 (“9/11”) terrorist attacks on the New York World Trade Center. While for many of us such a reminder in game form might seem inappropriate and trivializing, for others, especially the game’s authors, it shows a motivation to do something, anything, in response and as counter to the helplessness felt by the average person in the immediate days, weeks, months that followed the devastation.
It’s not a great game. Far from it. But it serves as a marker in history that showed up even in the Flash web game world.
Aim the reticule using your mouse or touch and shoot down the attacking planes with lasers.
