This is a nice looking puzzle game sponsored by “Corn Nuts” snacks. A popular trend on the web in the late 1990’s through early 2000’s was “advergames“. These were free web games, usually made in Flash, that were paid for by big name sponsor brands. The model was that they hoped people would share the game files or web links with each other and that elevated brand awareness in a way that [they thought] would be more engaging and memorable than an expensive TV commercial or bus stop posters.
Ultra Block is a fun Flash web game that offers a classic color matching action. The puzzle play area fills up from the bottom, line by line, so there’s an element of timing involved and making wrong clicks also penalizes you.
Play Some Games has several other “AdverGames”, such as 7Up Pinball, Pepsi Pinball, and Stuart Little Extreme Skateboarding.
